Jimmie Mitchell

For nearly 20 years, Jimmie has actively served as an avid promoter of natural resource management, known best for building teams to drive initiatives aimed at restoration, reclamation, and enhancement of the natural occurring world throughout the State of Michigan. He is a fellow on the Environmental and Natural Resource Governance Initiative defining Collaborative Multi-Jurisdictional Management Policy under Michigan’s Environmental Advisory Council and was selected to draft portions of the President’s Annual Budget on Interior during the final four years of the Obama Administration.

Jimmie’s involvement with the MRWA began in 2006 when taking the helm as Director of Natural Resources for the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians. He remains eagerly committed to assist in defining and promoting the work the MRWA puts forth to accomplish. Jimmie was born in Muskegon and is a lifelong Michigander; he and his wife Cassandra currently reside in Manistee with their children.
