Muskegon River: Croton to Henning Park
Members from the Muskegon River Watershed Assembly Voyage of Discovery team invite you to join them for a Sturgeon Fun Paddle on the Muskegon River from Croton to Newaygo prior to the Traditional Sturgeon FUNdraiser. Enjoy spectacular scenery and wildlife in the company of others who love the river.
Thanks to generous partners, Wisner Rents Canoes and Newaygo County Parks and Recreation we can offer a very affordable day on the river. $10 per person covers kayak or canoe rental and transportation to the starting point below Croton Dam. Meet at Henning Park for craft rental and/or transportation. Parking for the day at Ed Henning Park in Newaygo is free. We can only accommodate a total of 100 paddlers and you must register in advance. See below for registration information. To attend paddle and 2 pm Traditional Sturgeon Release, the cost is $25pp.
Schedule & Details:
All paddlers sign personal liability form.
- 9:00 am: Meet at Ed Henning Park, 500 Croton Dr., Newaygo
- 9:30 am: Climb on the Wisner Cool Bus for the short ride to Croton Dam
- 10:00: Launch from Croton (this is a 3-4 Hour trip)
- 1:00 pm: Arrive at Henning Park.
- Remember Craft rental & transportation is limited to the first 100 reservations.
- Reservations must be received by September 21, 2017
What if I have my own craft? If you need transportation from Newaygo to Croton bring your craft to Ed Henning park at 9:00 am. The cost is $10 pp.
If you don’t need the shuttle, join us at the Croton Launch at 10:00 am. The Croton launch is just below the dam, on Croton Rd, north side of River. Parking is across the street.
